the underside
the darkness that pierces the light
another bittersweet reprise
as deep fathoms arise
a poem that rhymes
is one surely out of time
this is not groundbreaking
just another case of faking
that there is any content
like grass on the other side of the fence
growing, dying, all at once
cannibals eat their lunch
out of our depth
like a little boy trying to act tough
we run out of breath
like astronauts above
it's like splitting hairs
searching for your whereabouts
a wave of despair
sweeping through, all around
an old fashioned party
(not like those smart phone gatherings)
going out of fashion like it were funny
why is anyone bothering?
a fight that brings us closer
like filaments in a toaster
we project out our anger
until the point of danger
to oneself or to the other
to beat up our own brothers
in the arms of another
we know it can't last forever
a socket for a socket
the laughter when we mock it:
the stupidity of the Prime Minister
the joke of the southern hemisphere
flip the reverse back to forward
too many skeletons, run out of storage
the sadder moments are our favourite ones
it teaches lessons and brings forth knowledge
a poem with lack of content
beyond reproach, nothing to defend
a refusal to apologise or repent
same old story gets told in the very end
Art sucks. Poetry sucks. Everything is fucked. I suck. You suck. So if I am so anti-everything, why do I even bother "creating" anything? Well one has to do something with one's time. Welcome to my playground. I am the Dissident Poetician. Doing Poetician stuff is what i do. "Art is dead, don’t consume its corpse" - graffiti in the streets of Paris, May 68. Long live the spirit of May 68. Piss in the fountain of dada.

SIK M8
traffic grinding to a halt
big boy's toy wreaking havoc
monster car smokes it up
burn out in peak hour
smoke billowing violently
happy bogans yell in unison
onlookers shake their heads
but do not fret dear bogankind
there's a senator that would
condone such fine behaviour
he walks the halls of parliament
and sits near Lord Clive Palmer
in his comfortable senate seat
he speaks eloquently in interviews
"can we start that again maight?"
he's a motoring enthusiast
he's our main man Ricky
next time you do a burn out
know that Ricky is with you
and is fighting for your rights

GPS
shrivelled triffids
reaching up towards
the scorching sun
my rage is what
keeps me sane
but not on the roads
traffic congestion
the voice on the GPS
tells me to go
on the longest
route possible
after unnecessarily
wasting petrol
I arrive at my
destination
she hops in the car
and tells me
the he's not ready yet
and besides,
we jinxed ourselves
so we decide
to loiter around
eat some cheese cake
hasten the onset
of lung cancer
then she checks her phone
and smiles at me
he's ready to go
I smile back,
knowing things
will be just fine
I start the engine
and off we go
another adventure
about to gather steam
hopefully more fun
than the previous time
we get there
in no time at all
she passes me
a cigarette
and I willingly oblige
hello, goodbye
he says in a heartbeat
before making his way
back to the rear door
from whence he came
we smile at each other
glad that we didn't
have to wait that long
so, off to Leederville
we go, taking
the scenic route
with her as my navigator
she's much better
than that stupid GPS
and her voice isn't
half as irritating
we buy some drinks
guzzle down to our
hearts' content
oh, how refreshing
I thought to myself
then we proceed to
walk back to the car
I drop her off at home
knowing full well
she is returning
back to loving hands
or in this case, paws
unconditional love
most of the time
especially when
the adorable darling
needs something
a day well spent
I think to myself
then I'm on my way
the voice on the GPS
tells me to go
the longest route

BOUNDLESS PLAINS TO SHARE
repetition
a waste of time
as we daydream away
hoping to transcend
that which is banal
but only finding
that the patterns
paint the same path
of indignation
and bitterness
unwilling to accept
the status quo
unable to comprehend
the lack of compassion
towards desperate people
luxury cruise
SIEV interception
sent back to hell
they must be loaded
and the majority
are either criminals
or latent terrorists
send them back
from whence they came
it is perfectly safe
for them to return
war is over
so it must be safe
international anarchy
is the game
we are winning in
and the winners
are all white
middle class males
decent people
religious people
people who would send
people in need
back to persecution
and in some cases,
death
we've boundless
plains to share
with those
of an appropriate
skin colour
just not
dark skinned people
a waste of time
as we daydream away
hoping to transcend
that which is banal

CONCRETE EYES
pushed aside
rustic landscape
spider web glistens
in the morning sun
wander forth
searching for something
anything sacred
in a profane world
stagger forth
hanging by a vine
roll another
inhale again
and again and again
beauty beckons
but nobody
is looking
too busy swinging
on the vine
trying hard
to navigate
a jungle
full of concrete
I close my eyes
to be pleasantly surprised
black and white
images flash
before my eyes
aged memories
down the path
to oblivion
and I saw
what you saw
or at least
I hope I did

NO EXIT
enter here
everyone else does
keep the peace
don't say anything weird
everything
must be smooth
don't offend anyone
keep your opinions
to yourself
boring conversation
politeness for the sake
of politeness
as authentic
as a hipster
walk down the dotted line
stop, don't go
oh, it's ok now
cars almost hit me
if you want
to cross alongside me
you had better
have your eyes open
and your attention
undivided
or do you wish
to be hit by a bus?
okay, then
go back to playing
with your smart phone
oh, look at us
we're having a phone party
like in the old days
when people
held TV parties
look it's a sliding door
it takes you into
consumer paradise
what will you buy next
I think I will buy nothing
or perhaps get a
two for one special
so many pretty things
that catch the eye
so many things to buy
you can hardly
contain yourself
so much choice
it's so hard to decide
then you lay
your eyes on it
you simply must have it
so you pull out
your credit card
who needs cash
when you have plastic
exit here
everyone else does
wouldn't want
to go against the grain
everyone else does
keep the peace

DOWN TIME
another day
just like any other day
an ordinary day
main line streamlined
threshold breached
holy temple under siege
the are paths to follow
some forsaken
some exhilarating
the focus is narrow
when waiting in the car
inhaling noxious chemicals
waiting for everything
to be sweet as nectar
as cool as an icy pole
the usual spot again
waiting with ciggy in hand
time ticks over
pleasantries are exchanged
time to turn back time
to experience that which
can never be achieved again
I suppose I can't complain
the edges are not so rough
and the main show
is a convincing one
down to the supermarket
looking in the cheap section
for a decently priced drink
to clench a considerable thirst
and what relief it was
to ingest water into the system
in another manner
rather than the usual way
the scars of down time
add up to consequences
very few people
escape unscathed
just like any other day

main line streamlined

INEXPLICABLE
you cannot sing to this
you cannot rap to this
you cannot handle this
you cannot scream to this
like Saturday all that time ago
all the lies you didn't know
all that gospel you scream at us
is coming to bust your bank account
you cannot respect this
to do so would be
to side with the enemy
and the enemy is inside of me
you cannot imitate this
you cannot pull the piss
you cannot surpass this
it's useless just like this
pencil with no ersaer
typed out on a smart phone
I'm old school, I use paper
we all love our phones
you cannot understand this
you cannot rap to this
you cannot handle this
you cannot scream to this
like Saturday all that time ago

GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT
collision between my desires and my inaction
the passion has faded and indolence prevails
there is always time but time slips away
when you throw all your eggs into a bonfire
my halcyon days were destined to haunt me
times now dead and buried, but not forgotten
I know people who get so stuck in their glory days
talking about those days as if there were yesterday
I can't really fault them without being a hypocrite
for I am in the same sinking boat when I reminisce
the future and the past should be in good hands now
but this hypocrite is trying hard not to remember
when boredom hits, there's always a propensity
to press that self-destruct button once again
it can be said that self-sabotage is quite an art form
and I would consider myself a prodigy at just that
I have an appetite for masochistic whippings
strike me down so that I can get up again, stronger
for every hard-knock comes an appreciation
of all the things that can truly liberate us
seeing things from a new perspective
approaching life like it were serious and important
and sometimes even humorous and still significant
there is hope in this life yet, I know there is
nothing good can come out of my inaction
there is hope in this life, I'm not letting it slip away
not anymore
SAID INDIGNANTLY
impromptu entrance made
undignified exit story forthcoming
hens gliding through the water
an ocean of darkness
a sea full of spectacles
keeping us under control
as we blindly consume away
impulse and competition
double blanket coldness
politicians in sleeping bags
neck high in hypocrisy
pretending that they care
high castles haunt the poor
who wish they had a battering ram
an earth so fragile
equilibrium more delicate than glass
decision pending
scientists compromised
climate change is a fallacy
paid for by mining magnates
escargot internet
preferred by Rupert Murdoch
the slippery slope has claimed more victims
sandcastles where there is no sand
and the natives were but fauna
just as the LNP is not comprised of humans:
they are more subhuman than those
they would treat as subhuman
the borders are blocked by an iron gate
the lives of people subject to persecution
escape from an awful place only to be sent back
it seems compassion is not forthcoming
babysitting, protecting the cigarettes
uniformed people, intelligent people:
hating people who arrived by boat
they must hate their ancestors too
PERFECT PACKAGES FOR PARROTS
another moment
lost to spontaneity
always pining
for you to return
never realising
that love cripples
came falling down
tripping over a bonfire of self-sabotage
time brings about new perspective
sorts out the cookies from the door knobs
we need to fuck up in order
not to be an arrogant cunt
all consumed by trepidation and insecurity
insecurity sells
consume to feel better
you think you're climbing up that ladder
but really you're just falling
unaware of that which is glaringly obvious
it begs the question
why did you move next to the Joneses?
the answer is another question
did your workout out on the treadmill
make you feel like you were going places?
consumer paradise perfectly packaged
it the end what matters
is what we choose not to forget
sometimes choosing to forget
is easier that facing up to the holy temple
you're deviant if you disobey
well at least if you appear faux-alternative
and these masks and façades we wear
are there to protect ourselves from
the liberating potential of pure truth
we believed, in folly,
that mainstream truth was truth
so we pledge allegiance to legalised murder
the war crimes we are all complicit in
and it can be said that silence is violence
it perpetuates the cycle of avoidable death
the average bogan automaton
can tell you how to bulk up at the gym
and which horses to bet on to win it big
the ones not slaughtered for being too slow
they can also tell us why boat people are scum
and why dole bludgers are a drain on society
they are full of knowledge that is recycled
from the corporate media and parroted line for line
rest assured the future brings us the opportunity
for respite, resurrection, renewal
and the chance to choose for oneself
living as it were your own choice
not coerced by power or the fear of punishment
choice is always available, so choose wisely
lost to spontaneity
always pining
for you to return
never realising
that love cripples
came falling down

JUST ANOTHER ISM
a time of waste
a bitter taste
an about face
a swift fall from grace
happy times
chemicals interact
nothing rhymes
truth is stranger than fiction
a question of rhyme itself
a break from the ways of old
out with the passé, in with pragmatism
out with pragmatism, in with idealism
out with idealism, death of realism
out with any ism, in with another ism
the circle of life
a journey through time
to stay out of strife
is to refrain from crime
shoplifters of the world unite
help yourself, take up the fight
another ism gets constructed
then we burn the skeletons of modernism
only to be met with the wanky post
shove your isms up you post-member
another ism gets constructed
and the truth itself get destroyed
the wordplay brings satisfaction
but the content has been corroded
so choose your ism before you choose your friends
your ism consumes you like fire doused in petrol
APERTURE CHECK
rustling leaves
make good gifts
a finite challenge
to infinity
purple sky
dark contours
like Gotham City
wrong aperture
a web of indifference
a child chasing
butterflies and leaves
console culture
arcade machine
through a time warp
large buttons
inebriated imbibement
chatter disjointed
a two dimensional dream
retro paradise
a carefree glimpse
chemically cultivated
yet more tangents
cancerous reproach
safe but not sound
check the aperture again
and if you make it
home in one piece
it's one piece too many
make good gifts

untitled
it's done and dusted
the buckets need to be emptied
a red one and a blue one
water that was once used
to wash dirt off vegetables
noise hissing from the speaker
I lose all control over my mental faculties
with my brain turning to mud
unable to process the present before the future
perception buzzing off on tangents
as all events get blurred into one
I enter through a back window
trying to be as inconspicuous as possible
tip-toeing around trouble and obstacles
as the synthesizer kicks into action
floating on the back of a Willy Wagtail
things could not get more sublime
then it all just slowly fades away:
the dreams, the dreams within a dream
the buckets need to be emptied
a red one and a blue one
water that was once used
to wash dirt off vegetables
noise hissing from the speaker
I lose all control over my mental faculties
with my brain turning to mud
unable to process the present before the future

WHITE PICKET FENCE
you shallow poison
you swallow everything
just so you can be safe
never have to question
what you've been told
you watch all the wrong shows
ingesting in bourgeois crap
prefabricated American rubbish
digesting their innards
stomach indoctrination pills
now you are ready to shine
catch the same bus again
for another day on repeat
go home to a mini mansion
you have made it, you smile
you have everything you need
yet you still want more stuff
the prescription has repeats
pop another pill to feel normal
feed the dog and then the kids
sip some wine, just desserts
invite all your friends over
to look at the white picket fence
you'll be the envy of them
the ones who haven't made it
but you have made it
your mother will be so proud
you work like a horse
so you can have all these things
then you go home to your fence
and again it all repeats

CITY ON FIRE
the city was on fire
concrete burning
even though concrete
does not burn
people screaming and running
in a flight of mad panic
every man for himself
women being shoved aside
a stampede of scared creatures
windows being smashed
shops being looted
3D televisions up for grabs
junkies helping themselves
to morphine and benzos
where do people's priority lie?
consumerism and spectacles
entertainment and escapism
forget about the the essentials
as for myself, what did I do?
I was stealing some books
all the Penguin classics
BEYOND BOREDOM
everything that can be said
has been said a million times before
there's nothing new to say here
another bittersweet reprise
same old haunting memories
same old cast of characters
engaging in risky, almost novel activities
exploring new pathways of perception
such is the life of a tortured man
who previously had no life at all
when we resist reality as it is
we are opening up the floodgates
to beauty and ecstasy beyond
our everyday, banal experience
the path of least resistance
is the path to self-destruction
it is a shortcut to the death of the spirit
but a promenade mired in complexity
shows us breathtaking new colours of reality
or that which transcends the boredom
of our repetitive day to day experience
there are many planes of actuality
far removed from the mundaneness
of our everyday pilgrimage from point A
which leads predictably to point B
there is much more to life than the banal
to discover this vast new world of bliss
all it takes is courage and openness
so unfurl your wings, set your sights high
and join us on the adventure of a lifetime
it may just add years to your life
or at least open it up to infinite possibilities
where everything we covet is within reach
there is much more to life than boredom
has been said a million times before
there's nothing new to say here
another bittersweet reprise

ANOTHER CLICHED REPRISE
there are rhymes flowing through my cranium
incomplete and twisted with rage in them
yes, I refuse to follow their fashion
I am driven by anger and jaded passion
I'm writing these words to procrastinate
because I simply can't concentrate
on the task in front of my eyes
absorbing the words of the wise
thinking all about societal lies
staring into the emptiness in Tony's eyes
this is yet another clichéd reprise
repeated over and over, myriads of times
the same words flowing through my mind
as I get myself ready to rant and whine
spitting out the acerbic words of an iconoclast
destroying all the institutions of the past
this is serious, this is class war you see
send the cuntish cretins to the guillotine
or rob them blind and burn their money
build a world based on love and equality
where we can all be healthy and free
there's a knife flying through the backdoor
an album full of photos shot in RAW
the pent up frustrations of a man who's bored
this isn't a picnic or a game, it's class war
incomplete and twisted with rage in them
yes, I refuse to follow their fashion
I am driven by anger and jaded passion
I'm writing these words to procrastinate

SELF-DESTRUCTION BANDAID
a place devoid of ambition.
I find it difficult to escape
from these feelings of emptiness
or not feeling anything at all
like a guinea pig on Prozac.
my life is the boredom epitomised,
as I lay here waiting for something,
anything to happen to me at all.
nothing ever happens to me,
but another insignificant journey
to the middle of a barren desert.
motivation has slipped away,
or at least what was left of it.
days repeat like groundhog day:
nothing special, nothing bad,
emptiness on display in a window.
is happiness but another illusion,
something we search for in vain?
I am darkness personified,
hanging on to my sanity
by the thinnest of threads.
you took me by the hand
led me away, led me astray
like a dog without a leash.
I am beholden to your will,
under your darkest spell,
as I scratch around and search
for something beyond the abyss.
you take me to a brighter place:
a place where pain fades away
and everything is magnificent.
myriad colours, words and stars
swirl around in graceful unison.
if only it could be like this everyday,
days filled with fun and beauty.
I stalk you or do you stalk me?
I seek out your company
at every available opportunity,
fully knowing how toxic you are.
you are the bane of my existence:
you will be the death of me one day.
yes I know this all to well,
yet I keep on running back to you.
and so the cycle repeats
over and over and over again.

POST-DEGENERATE SELF-REFLEXIVE RANT
Through the eyes of compassion,
a doorway of lies and excuses
driven by the primacy of indoctrination:
fears and insecurities
and illusions and attachment to comfort.
If these banal moments of standardisation
are but the security blankets of order,
then humanity is more infantile
than the barking hounds of absolutism;
like a man with a head full of trivia,
a heart that pumps the cold blood of logic;
but devoid of the crucial wisdom.
For what good is knowing
when one does not understand what one knows?
A blind man enters the woods
and feels agitated by the absence
of industrial noises and techno nooses.
In the cold logic of supposed progress,
the more that one gains in simplicity
and the more one escapes from artificiality,
the less civilised one becomes
and the more respectability one stands to lose,
while we forget that we are all but filthy animals,
hellbent on destroying all and sundry...
out of hate, out of fear
and out of the lust to feed the need for greed
so that short-sighted cabals of cuntish cretins
can wipe out all the statistical inconveniences!
I apologise for preaching
like a self-righteous preacher.
I'd much rather be teaching
like an awe inspired teacher.
Never lose sight of your humanity.
If you think that your excrement is not pungent,
then you have already shot the truth in the foot.
Never lose sight of the light within.
Keep a sense of humour,
stay human.

LOVE
than sitting here with you by my side
you take me to a much higher place
a place so surreal, it's almost uncanny
you are my romance, my apple pie
you make me feel like I'm floating free
like walking through a field of poppies
running through life's sweet demise
worries are so passé, yesterday's news
as I gently float away on your wings
you are my very dearest of friends
keep me warm when my world implodes
fill the hole full of maggots and cadavers
I can't think of anything else but you
you are a grand prize from far beyond
the greatest thing since sliced bread
take me away on your gentle wings
with you in my life, how can I complain
together forever we shall save the world
faster than the speed of a sonic boom
the days are endless when we cross paths
may our love last for ever and a day more
you promised me you would never leave
fill the gaps where there once was chaos
please promise again that you'll never leave
some things are far too good for me
I don't deserve you for I am nothing
I am glad that you are here just for me
leave me and I would be filled with pain
you are the forever I've been searching for
with you by my side I am invincible
some things are too special for words
it's times like these when words are superfluous
HARRY CALLING
the place to be
harlequin clown
people to see
reasons are few
sweet destruction
there's something new
hell's seduction
little people
smile back at me
into evil
I worship thee
any sequel
better than none
dance with evil
it's endless fun
in the castle
enticing mist
it's cerebral
this endless bliss
my mind wanders
creation's gift
going under
grim reaper's list
I'm headed down town
the place for me
no reason to frown
my soul set free
watch the sky fall
lay on the grass
can't ask for more
cares fading fast
Harry say yes
to the instant
under arrest
in the moment
my dalliance
pain fades away
I'm a freeman
I'll seize the day
Harry calls me
beckoning me
to set him free
I shall be free

NO CONCLUSIONS
memories in my eye
it's time to wake up
to myself
this is the new normal
nothing is quite here,
nor there
I didn't come here
to hand control over
to my enemies
greedier than greed
take another puff
of that poison
sunlight shining
from the beyond
eternity falling
from way above
sunlight piercing
through the cocoon
infinity finding
no conclusions
allergies in my skin
I spend so much time
scratching those itches
this is the consequence
nothing quite compares
intense
I didn't write this
to free some skeletons
choose some words to share
find another word
from the thesaurus
sunlight shining
from the beyond
eternity falling
from high above
sunlight piercing
through the façade
infinity dancing
with destruction
it's time to wake up
to myself
this is the new normal
nothing is quite here,
nor there
I didn't come here
to hand control over

untitled
killing machines all around me
cool breeze blowing from the horizon
everything ruined by those machines
but we are all lost without with them
I wait quielty for something to happen
a part of us wants something more
good things come to those who try
but nothing happens if we simply wait
we are all creators and co-authors
if we don't make it happen: it won't
cool breeze blowing from the horizon
everything ruined by those machines
but we are all lost without with them
I wait quielty for something to happen
a part of us wants something more
good things come to those who try
but nothing happens if we simply wait

DEAD MUSCLE TISSUE
walking against
the flow of traffic
blowing bubbles
exquisite rainbow
slowly fade away
as light as anorexia
fractal ornaments
floating gently
colours swirling
embers falling
gleeful harlequin
in haunted space
soaking it all in
enchanted forest
at one with eternity
drifting with infinity
bright neon lights
perfect moment
time stands still
in perpetual sands
on the other side
worries fade away
universe beckons
to explain itself
holy communion
forever floating
the flow of traffic
blowing bubbles
exquisite rainbow
slowly fade away
as light as anorexia
fractal ornaments
floating gently
colours swirling
embers falling
gleeful harlequin
in haunted space
soaking it all in
enchanted forest
at one with eternity
drifting with infinity
bright neon lights
perfect moment
time stands still
in perpetual sands
on the other side
worries fade away
universe beckons
to explain itself

forever floating

SUMO
new year’s eve
for us to see through;
people walking
far too much
for us to handle;
little people
in the playground
simple pleasures;
look up at the stars
see what you choose
to see up there;
walking in the dark
try to remember
where point A is;
watching carefully
eyes firmly fixed
on the road ahead;
lights blurring
more than enough
to distract me;
colours swirl around
in a wave of blood
perception jilted;
feel like I’m floating
above like a cloud
feeling light as air;
the present captured
in the eye of my mind
everything is beautiful;
choose your own adventure
anything is possible
when you open the door
at the foreshore
looking for fun;
lights flashing
way too brightlooking for fun;
lights flashing
for us to see through;
people walking
far too much
for us to handle;

when you open the door
I came over
to spend time
with you
to have fun
doing things
being active
I didn’t
come over
to hear you
tell stories
about your past
long gone
you take me
back to a time
long ago
when you were
fit and healthy
now shackled
by physical pain
you start
to realize
that something
needs to change
time to
take action
begin again
from the
beginning
I came over
to do things
with you
to spend time
doing things
not being
passive
I didn’t
come over
for you to tell me
about some movie
the one
you just watched
don’t you realize
I don’t watch
much television
now hiding
behind your habit
you start
to realize
that normal
is a lie
time to
start over
be born anew
start from
the beginning
to spend time
with you
to have fun
doing things
being active
I didn’t

PIMP CANE
commodification
of New Age ideas
looking at
all the shiny gadgetsenthralled by all the men’s toy
you think you are going places
but you’re going nowhere at all
you think that freedom is a mars bar
when you head down to the shops
you’re like a dog playing in the park
in awe of everything nice you see
there's units waiting to be shifted
you think you are in the driver's seat
when you buy all the things you buy
you're like in kid in a lolly shop
in love of all the products you see
it's eye candy of the corporate variety
attraction to more rehashed novelties
banal, dead and devoid of imagination
there’s a price tag waiting to be read
you
may think you are getting a bargainbanal, dead and devoid of imagination
there’s a price tag waiting to be read
but the price was fixed from the start
you cling to the past as if today was nothing
you toke from the bong as if it were normal
you love to reminisce every single day
as if the past could help you to forget
about the sad state of affairs that is life
but your glory days were over a long time ago
almost half a lifetime has passed since
you feel like you are back there having fun
so you tell the stories over and over again
waiting for another pimp cane for you to buy
another distraction from the shame you feel
and the reasons are the ones you are avoiding
clinging to days that are now dead and buried
yet you tell the stories over and over again
canvases of time
painted in my mind;
future looming large
on a collision course
with ghosts of the past;
a dragonfly buzzes by
under a clear blue sky;
I watch the traffic pass
inhale noxious fumes;
I start to contemplate
the end of times;
this inside out world:
barren as the desert;
blood on our hands
as more innocents die;
a gigantic cesspit
of cadavers and blood;
the shame of it all
our propensity for violence;
sometimes I am ashamed
to be another member
of this wicked human race
painted in my mind;
future looming large
on a collision course
with ghosts of the past;
a dragonfly buzzes by
under a clear blue sky;
I watch the traffic pass
inhale noxious fumes;
I start to contemplate

I was there watching
the calm before the storm;
you were there holding
your life in your hands;
clouds looming ominously
wind blowing from the east;
canvass shoes standing
on the upper layer of dirt;
surrounded by absurdity
big boy’s toys, men’s toys;
the glorious here and the now
being painted in my mind;
events turned into etchings
inside of a broken frame;
the perfect view of reality
in all the passing moments;
and the dreams of the future
are but explosions of the past;
I was there watching films
starring myself about myself;
we only know about ourselves
when it’s all said and done
the calm before the storm;
clouds looming ominously
wind blowing from the east;
canvass shoes standing
on the upper layer of dirt;
surrounded by absurdity
big boy’s toys, men’s toys;
the glorious here and the now
being painted in my mind;
events turned into etchings

there are well worn paths
there are random paths I would choose random
every time I had to choose
I knew it all along
that nothing lasts forever
and good things
don’t last for very long
that nothing lasts forever
and good things
don’t last for very long
there are ugly things
there are magical things
I would choose dreamsthere are magical things
every time I had to choose
I knew it from the start
that no one moves for nothing
my favours
not reciprocated
